I'm running News 2.11 patch level 8, and am having no luck at all in getting expire to work properly. It sets the 'oldest article numbers' in the active file to make almost all articles unavailable, but it deletes exactly no (none, zero) article from /usr/spool/uucp. This is just about the worst possible combination. Since these new news packages have been mentioned a bit on the net, it seems silly to go tracking this problem down when a whole new set of programs is just around the corner. Does anyone know where I might obtain C News or News 3.0? Which is prefferable, and why?
