Does anyone have/know of a flight simulator for a Sun 3 or 4. AV

Not that I know of, but it just so happens that I'm writing one. It draws pictures quite nicely, handles complex terrain, full hidden surface elimination and adaptive detail (as you get closer to objects, they are drawn in more detail). It runs on a sun with a GP and will soon run on suns without a GP. It does not fly realisticaly, and only has one instrument (DG). I'm looking for people to help write the thing. I especially want someone who can write realistic flight dynamics. My goal is to have *at least* the accuracy and reality of the Microsoft simulator, including realistic instrument failure modes etc. If you're interested, send mail to me and I'll put you on my flight simulator list. I can send source to anybody who wants it (but it will only run on a Sun/Gp right now). -- -ed falk, sun microsystems sun!falk, falk@sun.com terrorist, cryptography, DES, drugs, cipher, secret, decode, NSA, CIA, NRO.

There exists a flight simulator for the suns with the Graphics Processor that is in the /usr/demo/GP1 directory. Because Ed is with SUN, this may be the same one he mentions in his article. We may have got a copy because our machines were acquired more recently. In any case Andy, you might want to check this directory. Unfortunately, our SUNS do not have the GP so I don't know how good it is. > -ed falk, sun microsystems > sun!falk, falk@sun.com >terrorist, cryptography, DES, drugs, cipher, secret, decode, NSA, CIA, NRO.
