I am looking for a good PC relational database for a medical application. Each patient's name, address, phone ... and medical record number as well as diagnosis make a record. Any database can do that much, but here's the catch. I want to be able to relate the patient's medical record to a spreadsheet of data that can keep expanding. The spreadsheet will tabulate information collected each time the patient comes to clinic ( test results for blood counts...). With the power of the database I can search across patient demographic data quickly to create reports, labels... and with the related spreadsheet I can quickly scan the progress of the patient's response to treatment. I am new at this stuff, and I've tried to wade through all the reviews in mags, but none of the programs I've seen seem to have what I want. I don't really want to spend the bucks unless I know the program does what I want, so *any* suggestions and advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Smartware has all this stuff crammed into one package. It has a spreadsheet, DMBS (+language), wordprocessor, and phase of moon program (or something like that). I even think they have a cheap demo disk (free?). Check any larger PC magazine for more info. P.S. They even run it on UNIX and others besides MS/DOS. The may even support it under that half of an operating system from IBM. J. Davis Computer Assistance, Inc. for AT&T Bell Labs Denver
