[comp.sources.wanted] source of compress, version 1.7, wanted

We have some tar-files in compress version 1.7 format.
Uncompress failed, probably due to a bug in that oldfashioned
version of compress. Perhaps the source of compress 1.7 can
be useful to reconstruct the files.
Could someone help us by sending the source?
