[comp.sources.wanted] TIF

klg@njsmu.UUCP (Kenneth Goodwin) (10/07/88)

A short while ago, someone posted and received many replies to a question
regarding TIF format files. At the time, we had nothing that needed such
knowledge, but as the fates would have it, something has just appeared
that requires us to convert TIF to other formats. Could someone please
EMAIL us a copy of the answers to the original TIF question. I believe
that the company that originated TIF has a book/manual available
describing the physical file layout.

Our apologies for having to bring this up again so soon after the question
was answered.

Thanks in advance.

Ken:
If you want to do the grunt work yourself, just call Aldus and they
will send you TIFF 5.0 specs free...however, a product called The Graphics
Link Plus probably already has you covered. It converts omnidirectionally
between PCX/MSP/TIF/GIF/Bload/ShowPartner and many more and also has other
great image processing functions like scaling, dithering, tracing,
printing, etc. You can call (800)523-1796 if you want info....if not, like
I said, Aldus will send you TIFF specs (they are the proprieters of the
file format).
