Preheat the oven to 350. 1 c. shortening 1.5 c. sugar 2 egg yolks 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 t cream of tartar 2 c flour 0.5 t vanilla 0.5 t almond extract Cream the shortening and sugar. Mix in all the other ingredients. Roll the dough into balls, roll them in sugar and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for about ten minutes. They should come out chewy rather than crunchy. This is the world's most powerful known sugar cookie recipe; use it wisely. Peter Garst
