[comp.sources.wanted] looking for "whois" server source

I'd like to run a local "whois" server in my organization
and I'm looking for the server source.  

What I need is a C implementation that runs on SunOS (4.0 or 3.?) or 4.3 BSD.

Anybody got one?
Is is available from the NIC?
