[comp.sources.wanted] 4.3BSD-like functions wanted

     I've been learning about BSD Unix in order to port an application to
hp-ux.  BSD & hp-ux are close, but differ somewhat.  Could someone email
me public-domain source or documentation for functions similar to:

        re_exec
        re_comp
        vtimes
        random
        initstate (this is probably not BSD -- its probably missing because of
                    something I fixed)

     Even an explanation would help...
