Here is a salad prepared by a friend last week.  Incredible!
(and I don't like salads, particularly).

Combine the following -- in appropriate proportions:

Fresh broccoli, cut in small stalks
Marinated artichoke hearts, cut in quarters
Mushrooms
Red (sweet) peppers, cut in slivers
Tomatoes, cut in 1/8'ths
Cashew nuts
Avocados (sliced)

Prepare a garlicy vinagerette (2/3 olive oil, 1/3 wine vinegar,
garlic, basil, thyme, fresh ground pepper, a little french mustard),
sprinkle a small amount over the salad and let it sit a while, then
toss the rest just before serving.
