Gin fizzes are for brunch. (So are Bloody Mary's and champagne, but try these if you like those long, leisurely morning meals that lead to an afternoon nap.) The recipe comes from my mother, who started our family tradition of drinking them Easter morning. I once made them for friends, and ever since they've been a staple at communal brunches. They're not really very potent if you follow the recipe, and you can vary the amount of gin with no impact on flavor. Gin Fizzes Put in a blender: 4-5 ice cubes 7 oz. club soda 6 oz. frozen lemonade concentrate*, somewhat thawed 6 oz. gin 1/2 c. whipping cream 1 egg dash orange flower water dash orange bitters Blend until the ice cubes stop making noise. Pour into glasses and serve. And say "Thanks, Mom." * the consensus among my friends is that pink lemonade makes them prettier -- Anne Jacko decvax!teklabs!tekid!annej ucbvax!teklabs!tekid!annej
