[net.cooks] Broiled Scallops

1 lb Sea Scallops (soaked in milk and then rinsed)
1/2 C. butter
1/2 Green Bell Pepper, Cut into 1 inch chunks
1 medium onion, cut into 1/2 inch chunks
1/2 pint ripe cherry tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste
a dash of garlic powder

Clarify the butter. This is done by melting the butter and skimming 
off the butterfat that rises to the top. When this is done, the buuter
will be completely clear.

Add the scallops to a baking dish. The dish should be large enough that
the scallops are in a layer only 1 deep. Add the onions, peppers, mushrooms,
and cherry tomatoes to the scallops - distrute them evenly around the dish.
Pour the clarified butter over this mixture. Sprinkle with salt, pepper,
and garlic. (I forgot the mushrooms in the ingredient list, use about
8 small, whole mushrroms.) Broil until scallops are slightly brown.
After a couple of minutes under the broiler, I stir the mixture and then
spread it out evenly again.
