The latest Rolling Stone issue had an interesting tidbit: Elvis Costello's name was picked by his manager, Jake Riviera (not his real name either! Jake, I mean). Costello was never really thrilled by it, but once his first record made it big, he pretty much had to live with it. Now, however, he is toying with going back to his real name (Declan McManus, I think), at least on his British releases.
