I am currently using the Spenser regular expression routines posted to usenet
many moons ago. What I miss most in this package is the ability to do the
following:
RE{4,12}
which would mean that the RE will appear at least 4 times and no more than
12 times for a match to occur.
Mr Spenser has indicated to me that this was dropped due to its difficulty
in implementation in the type of state machine used. What I am hoping
to find is someone who might have written a 'frontend' to the routines
which would identify when this expression was present and would expand
it into the long format.
Anyone do this?
