We are in the process of converting from CMS (the code management system for VMS) to RCS (revision control system for UNIX and MS-DOS). There are several good reasons for this, e.g. the portability, speed, and convenience of RCS as compared with CMS. But we're encountering lots of resistance from programmers who are familiar with CMS, who don't want to learn a new system, and who dislike UNIX (!). So we're looking for a little program that accepts those familiar, verbose, awkward CMS commands, and translates them into the appropriate RCS commands. Has such a thing been written already? If not, we'll write it ourselves, even though the thought doing this is painful. Reply by email, if possible. Thanks in advance, and thanks to those kind readers of this newsgroup who helped us find DIFF3 recently. -- Mark Alexander (amdahl!drivax!alexande)
