A while ago (a few years I think) a window manager called wm was posted to the network. I have managed to get hold of a binary version but I would like to get hold of the sources from somewhere in the UK. Thanks in advance David Steele (dsteele@tcom.stc.co.uk)

If it's the wm I'm thinking about ("A Simple Window Manager"--it says "Welcome to Andrew" when you start up), then you can't have it. It was developed here at CMU with IBM funds and IBM hasn't loosened their copyright enough to allow it to be distributed off-site. I have heard before that a few binary versions have illicitly gotten out. I heard an anecdote where a CMU person found a copy of wm on a machine at some exposition and started it up. Someone else came by and remarked "Wow! How did you get X to run so fast?" -- _.John G. It's the version written originally to run under v7 and glass ttys. Send me e-mail if you're interested and I'll mail out the retrieval directions again. bob -- "Reading legal mush can turn your brain to guacamole" Bob Bownes, aka iii, aka captain comrade doktor bobwrench 3 A Pinehurst Ave, Albany, New York, 12203, (518)-482-8798 voice bownesrm@beowulf.uucp {uunet!crdgw1,rutgers!brspyr1}!beowulf!bownesrm
