[comp.sources.wanted] Printer Drivers !! ?? !!

re: MS-DOS software....

There's about 10 zillion software packages that come with a couple dozen
printer drivers, selectable via an Install procedure...

Is there a good source of such drivers, or do we have to get access to one
each of a couple dozen printers and re-invent the wheel?

thanks for your help, people....

Does anyone know where to get a driver for the HP deskjet+ that will work
under InterActive's 386/ix ?

I called InterActive, and they said they don't have any, but referred me
to Elan, which has drivers for laser printers, as part of their $895
package Eroff.

386/ix already comes with many facilities in Eroff
(including eqn, grap, troff). I'm looking for a driver that will allow me
to use all of those on an HP deskjet+. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Please reply by email, as I don't think this is of general interest.

thanks

But, among these 10z drivers, only a few actually do the same thing, exactly.
I've written a printer device driver to print diacritic characters on several
different printers. Each character is rendered in graphics mode. I cannot
release the source code for this driver (because my employer owns it) but the
book "Writing MS-DOS Device Drivers" by Robert S. Lai (ISBN 0-201-13185-4)
has a chapter devoted to a printer device driver (chapter 5).

I hope this helps.

PS to anyone who is reading this now, if you would be so kind to send me
some e-mail letting me know if this got out. we have been having trouble
     with our usenet feed. Thanks!
