Well, Courtney, if I'm literally starving (which few people in this society ever are), then my primary purpose in eating is feeding my body. However, I'd like to amiably say that, otherwise, my primary purpose is pleasing my senses. In fact, the idea of most recipes and cooking done with a loving touch is sensual pleasure. Also, I sincerely doubt if any amount of "good" food (by your definition(?)) past that required to satisfy your body does any good at all. So there's no reason to believe that eating "bad" food necessarily keeps you from eating "good" food. And if you eat too much, well, that's what exercise is for. Let's hear it for hedonism.
