Over the last 2 years, I`ve listened to a lot more country music than I ever had before. Firstly, because an ex-girlfriend of mine liked it a lot and I didn`t mind. Secondly, I was getting disgusted with some of the music I heard on the radio. Now don`t get me wrong. I am basically a Top 40 type person, but I do like some hard rock and some new wave. I can even handle Big Bands on occasions. But I think country has a lot to offer. It`s fairly simple, you CAN sing along with most of it. I had never heard of people like Janie Fricke, T. G. Shepherd, Ed Bruce, Sylvia to name a few. Oh sure, I knew about artists like Kenny Rogers, Crystal Gayle, Eddie Rabbitt(with 2 Ts) but not till after they started crossing over with some of their hits. I wish I`d know about some of them sooner. Now I`m sure there are some of you out their like my brother who calls C&W cow dung, but that`s what I like. Everyone has their own tastes, and if it would be better to have a subgroup net.music.cw, that would suit me fine. Of course, you could also just use the ol `n` key, but that`s your choice.
