[comp.sources.wanted] Translator from PLM to C wanted

peter@keba.UUCP (Peter Scheer) (06/21/89)

Fellow Netters,
this is a repost - first posting had distribution eunet.

Don't flame me - I am posting this for a friend!

A friend of mine is looking for some help in translating
a bunch of code written in PLM to C.
I have heard of a PD-source translating Pascal to C, so
maybe there is some program to do the same for PLM.

If anybody heard of such a program - PD, commercial, object, source or
anything else, please email. I will summarize if requested.

Thanks for _any_ info.

       Peter

We've used P2C (PL/M to C Translator) by Frank Korzeniewski and been pleased.
It is a commercial package, the advertized price is $5000 for a site license,
other arrangements may be available. Several other packages were evaluated,
this was the best.

The only thing it doesn't handle at the moment (V1.4) is conditional
compilation. I don't have the address or phone number in front of me; I know
he's indicated a uunet address in some of his documentation. Hopefully
someone in netland can provide that information?

The translator also does not handle un-nesting procedures. The code is
translated as if C supported nested functions.

Frank.

P.S. my address is below.
