I'm looking for a 'fair share' type scheduler for our VAX 8550 system. We currently run DEC's SVR2.1 but will be converting to DEC's SVR3.1 in the near future. Has anyone ported the fair share scheduler to the OS, or does anyone know if something like this exists that I can purchase? Here is the way such a scheduler works: Each user or group is assigned a percentage of the CPU. If a group or user has a need for greater than its share, and others aren't utilizing all of their allocated resources, the party in need is dynamically allocated a greater slice of the pie (until either the others require their share back or its is not needed anymore). Any information that you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks. Sue Vogel AT&T Bell Labs Libery Corner, NJ 201-580-4464 mozart!slv, allegra!slv
