[comp.sources.wanted] Pretty printer for PL/I

sharp@usceast.UUCP (Harry Sharp) (10/02/89)

Greetings!

For my thesis I am attempting to resurrect a content analysis system
known as WORDS. It is written in PL/I, a language which, until a few weeks
ago, I was happily unknowledgable of. Now I must read thousands of lines
of this code which was written in the 1960's and early 1970's before they
even knew what structure was. It is quite horrid looking and I would like
to see it in a semi-formatted state, if possible. Does anyone out there
know of a formatter or pretty printer for PL/I? Available operating systems
here at USC are MVS/XA, Unix (Sys V and BSD), VMS, and VM.
Another trick would be to translate the PL/I to C. Again, any
information would be greatly appreciated.

	Please respond by e-mail.

	Thanks.
