[comp.sources.wanted] crafts, weaving, quilting

hjanssen@cbnewse.ATT.COM (hank janssen) (10/20/89)

Hey,

My wife is a very fanatic weaver and quilter. I'm a amiga
lover. We like to join our interests.

Does anyone have or know software for an Amiga in relation
too one of the above mentioned subjects?
All other suggestions, exept write it yourself are welcome.
My machine will bounce back email, so please respond through
the NET.

Thanks, Hans

We have used two weaving-design programs for the Amiga: weave-it and
Design-weaver. Weave-it is a compiled basic program that is VERY slow and
annoying to use, but it does work and will support eight harnesses. Design
weaver is wonderful. It is fast, well organized and generally a joy to
use... overwhelmingly our preference.... Unfortunately the only version
currently available supports only four-harness weaves. We use DW for EVERY
we do that we can cram onto 4 harnesses, and use w-i as a backup when we need
more harnesses [we have three eight-harness looms and a ten-harness loom].

I don't remember the prices for either of these: if you pick up almost any
copy of Handwoven you should be able to find ads for both. If you'd like to
write for more info, you can try:
    weave-it: Joyce Peck
	       Box 1051
	       Qualicum Beach, British Columbia
	       CANADA V0R 2T0

    design weaver: Robert Cox
		    Rt 1, Box 298
		    Morgantown, WV 26505

Hope this helps....
