*** Official announcement of an anonymous FTP server ***

The Department of Computer Science at Utrecht University, the Netherlands
is now running an anonymous FTP service. We hope to be able to fulfil at
least some of the free software requirements of all people on the Internet,
especially all of you in Europe on InterEUnet.

+ What are we going to keep in the archive??
Well, of course we keep some common stuff (for novice users and for the
sites on our University campus network), but we will also try to make some
software available that is not already found on many other FTP servers and
that reflects part of our own interest. The latter may include:

o A *lot* of Atari-ST software, well updated, usually tested and
	   clearly organized. Ok, enough hype.
o (La)TeX related software (dvi2ps, mtex, diagram picture macroset)
and additional documentation (TeXhax and TeXmag articles).
o Various (BSD) software ported to HP-UX (bind, fingerd, tftp).
o Some GNU software, merely related to compiler writing (bison,
	   gcc, g++, tahoe-gcc (for HCX-9)).
o Sundry documentation (Internet worm reports, Perl ref. guides).

+ Where can you get all this??
The FTP server can be contacted at "sol.cs.ruu.nl" [131.211.80.5]
Log in as 'anonymous' and (respecting a worldwide policy) enter your
  e-mail address as a password.

+ What if you're not on the Internet??
All software in the FTP archive is also available via a mail server
program; if you want to use it, send a message to "mail-server@cs.ruu.nl"
  with the sentence

		help

in the message body and it'll tell you all about "how to use it" (and
  even more :-)).

+ What do we ask from you??
All we ask is: please respect our wishes and restrict your bulk
  FTP-ing to non-prime hours, that is 18:00 - 08:00 hours MET (GMT+1).

If you've any questions, suggestions or problems with the FTP server,
please inform me by e-mail.
