Hello, I have obtained the dubvios task of writing a TSR (terminate stay resident) program to run in the back ground on a running work station. The work station receives downloads constantly and must be free to process. The general idea is to write a TSR to access a disk file while the station is running. I plan to use the TIMER INT for the background affect. The main purpose is to view the LOG file without exiting the work station process. I am planning to hot key to a window to view the file over the work station menus and windows. I was planning on using direct writes to the monochrome video buffer to do so. Also, in order to access the disk for the file I need to re-enter DOS. The workstation is a PC running DOS 3.3 or higher. The host is a 3B2. My question is, does anyone have TSR code or literature to help me out, and does anyone have any of the same resources for the DOS re-entry (ie, the DOS busy flag). If you can suggest a good source (code or literature) please reply. Thanks for any and all help, Bruce Altmann --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UUCP {killer} iex!bruce INTERNET bruce@foxfire (tamu.edu) GIG'EM AGGIES Phone (work) 214 612 2600
