Well now, I have heard people in this newsgroup speaking of such unknowns as John Miles, Grouppo Sportivo and the like, so I thought I'd see if anyone out there has ever heard of Dean Freidman. He put out two albums. One simply called "Dean Freidman" (1976?) and "Well, Well Said The Rocking Chair" in 1979. The unfortunate part is that both of these LP's were put out on the Livesong label which is now defunct. I was told yesterday by a record store owner that the old Jim Croce albums were also released on Livesong and that some record company was now re-releasing those and possibly other Livesong titles. I have tape copies of both albums, however neither are very good recordings. I would appreciate any information about such possible re-releases or about finding out what has since happened to Dean Freidman. Thanks John M. Gunser Bell Labs Naperville

Heard of Dean Friedman! Boy, you hit gold. Dean Friedman is my brother's neighbor. I know Dean, his brother Aram, his sister Erica, and especially his mother ROse. Furthermore, I helped him write one song, and further furthermore I claim I am mentioned in one of his songs. He is currently working on a third album, it may even be out by now. He was not that popular in the USA , but did, and does, very well in Europe, especially England. Any more you would like to know about Dean? D.F. If I remember right, Dean had one hit song back around 1975 or 1976 called "ARIEL". It was a pretty good song at that, but I think that was his only successful single. Tom O`Connor ixlpc!tomoc
