I would like to hear from anyone who has been successful in implementing the Zmodem protocol from within tip. Seems that there was an article about this awhile back and I lost it in the suffle... Simple solution: get yourself a zmodem-capable protocol driver like rz/sz (from Omen Tech). Tip to your target machine. To send a file using zmodem, initiate a zmodem receive on the remote, then enter ~Csz myfiles and off you go. (~C "connects" a program to the remote by settings its standard input and output to the modem line.) If you want to build zmodem "into" tip, the easiest way would be to hardcode this as a new command (~Z or whatever). I don't see any need to hardcode the actual zmodem protocol into tip, unless you want to deliver such a tip to your customers. (If you want to please your customers, throw away tip and put out a *real* telecomm program.) -- perry -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Perry The Cynic (Peter Kiehtreiber) perry@arkon.key.com ** What good signature isn't taken yet? ** {amdahl, sgi, pacbell}!key!perry
