[net.cooks] Apple Pies

QUICK! Just picked about 100 apples (Jonathans). In need of an Apple
Pie recipe for a lousy cook. Reply ASAP (how long do apples last?).

Apples can last a long time in a cool (not freezing) cellar or shed. For pie
recipes, my favorite book is "Fanny Farmer", although there are some strictly
apple pie books.

Here's my version:

		Make (buy? yuk!) pie crust.
Lay in 9-10 inch glass pie plate.
Core, peel (optional), and slice 6-8 apples.
Add brown sugar if you have a sweet tooth (~1/4 cup max.)
Dust with nutmeg/cinnamon (if you don't trust the flavor of
			your apples).
		Dot with butter.
Shot of bourbon/rum to be exotic.
Lay on top crust, pierce (with an A).
Bake 350 for 50 min. or until it smells delicious.

To me, the fun of apple pies is that no two are the same...
