[comp.sources.wanted] sh => C translator

lws@comm.WANG.COM (Lyle Seaman) (03/17/90)

I recall seeing mention of a program which would translate
sh to C. I don't recall where or when or anything. Has
anyone else heard of this? I have a sneaking suspicion it's
a commercial product, but a look through a couple of issues
of various UNIX magazines didn't turn up anything.

Subject: Re: shell -> C
Since mail outside HP seems to bounce back a lot, I'll post the address:

These people have a product, ccsh, that compiles shell scripts. Since they
support a large variety of platforms, I assume they parse to c, then use the
local c compiler. I've never used it, so I don't know. If anybody has any
experience, I'd like to hear about it.

This is not an endorsement, nor does it necessarily reflect the opinion of HP
management.
