I am looking for a new and improved version of the filter that converts
HP-GL plotter output to PostScript (for printing on an Apple Laser Writer).
The version I have is 4 or 5 years old and was called "hpgl2ps". When we
feed some HP-GL output from a Mentor Graphics application to our old version
of "hpgl2ps", its seems to work. However, when the PostScript results are
sent to any of our Apple Laser Writers, the file seems to transfer (the cute
little orange light blinks for quite a while) but nothing comes out. This
senario is common w/ this version of "hpgl2ps". Sometimes the output prints
(when "hpgl2ps" is feed HP-GL code from certain applications such as
from "plot(1)") and sometimes it does not (such as this Mentor output).
I have not bothered to hack on "hpgl2ps" and discover why it is producing
some bad PostScript code, but I shall if no one out there has a newer (and
hopefully better) version. Thanks in advance for any responses!
