[comp.sources.wanted] Looking for a file archiver transparent on both UNIX & PC

rongchen@alcor.usc.edu (Rong Chen) (07/03/90)

I am looking for a pc version of "shar" or "tar" UNIX equivalent,
be it exexutables or source code, or a UNIX version of "pkpak", "pkzip".

Basicly, I want to have a mean to bundle up a list of files on
one site, transmit it between my UNIX account and my PC via modem, and
then untie the bundled file. So I don't have to wait while kermit
is running and wait through the transmission of all of them

Can someone please help on this?

	Thanks.

Take a look at either "arc" or "zoo". They each have implementations
on MSDOS and generic unix.
