pred@iitmax.IIT.EDU (Predrag S. Bundalo) (07/30/90)

I would like the source code ( a PD version ) for the Unix

When you are blasting a dictionary against the /etc/password file
looking passwords crypt is either very poorly written or has a "slow
down loop of 1/2 to 1 second. That's the usual reason for wanting a
fast crypt.

I would also like it. We have a system with VME-based PCs acting as
the operator interface to a unix-based system. We would like to be able
(for security reasons) to generate the encrypted passwords on the PCs,
rather than passing them in the open. (Can't have more than one user at
a time on the PC).
