I've thought long and hard about this one. It's hard to come up with dishes which are unique to Utah (a native may disagree with me, but I haven't seen any responses from natives yet, I've only been here 6 years). I came up with 1. Jello Salad -- this is obviously not unique to this area, but apparently Utahns consume 3 times the national per capita amount of Jello, and a large amount of this is in Jello salad. We even had a (somewhat tongue-in-cheek) Jello salad festival here last summer. 2. Honey -- Utah is really big on honey, partly because of the Mormon church food storage program. There is a lot of "Utah grown" honey. 3. Ice Cream -- Since Mormons don't drink or smoke, they have to have some vice, and ice cream is it. There are ice cream parlors every few blocks (it seems), and they're usually open until at least midnight. (Notice a common denominator here -- all of these are sweet. Candy sales are big, too.) =Spencer (Let's hear it from some natives -- did I miss something important?)
