[comp.sources.wanted] traffic.c

elliot@alfred.UUCP (Elliot Dierksen) (08/16/90)

A while back, there was a program that came accros the Net called traffic.c or
traffic2.c. It read /usr/spool/uucp/.Admin/xferstats and reported on how
much data was moved via UUCP & some average CPS info. Does anybody have or
know where I can find this?? I looked through my listings from uunet &
osu-cis but I couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanx,

EBD

Here's the info I have about it. It's on uunet and possibly osu-cis; be
SURE to get the "enhancement". It's a great program!

uutraf - Produces UUCP transfer statistics - HoneyDanBer (BNU) UUCP only

The program summarizes the output of the UUCP 'xferstats' program,
and gives the transfer statistics by system, giving such things as
the average transmission speed, connect time, and the volume of traffic.

Command line options can be specified for sorting the output by volume,
connect time, xfer rates, etc. For speed and security, the program is
C (no shell calls), and requires no special privileges to run.

Thanks to Doug Davis and David Butler for the sorting functions and
other stuff they did.

I have received a copy of the afore mentioned program. Thanks to Dave Snyder

I believe the animal you're looking for is "uutraf". It was written
by Greg Hackney. You "should be able" to reach him at address
	     hack@texbell.swbt.com
I say "should" because recently he has been told to remove many
of the "outside" company connections to texbell. I understand the IP
address is still functioning. Failing that, I'll try to get a copy of it
to Thad via e-mail if he's willing to archive it and make it available.
