[comp.sources.wanted] perl source repost ?

olav@nososl.UUCP (Olav Eide) (09/13/90)

I heard that the perl source was posted to the net some time ago.
Any chance of this happening again in the near future ?
I've just recently become aware of its existence, and it sounds like
a powerful tool I'd like to try out.
I would think that there would be a lot of new users out there that
missed the previous posting and are without access to anonymous ftp via
internet.

Thanks!

Some new things have snuck into Perl recently so that they'd get included
in the Perl book that we're about to send off to the publisher (O'Reilly)
and when things are stable again, I'll probably call it a new version
and distribute it, just so we can say the book documents version 3.1 or
4.0, or whatever it's going to be.

Meanwhile, if you write to me I can send you the current kits.

I doubt it. It's a rather large package to post many times.

Then get it via anonymous uucp from osu-cis. Write to osu-cis!uucp
for complete instructions. No doubt there are other anonymous uucp
sites you could also get it from.
