main(){printf("Hello World\n");} I posted a request like this some time ago but got absolutely no response whatever (but then our mail/news feed was a bit flaky at the time :-). I'm looking for MetaFont sources for pseudo-Helvetica font (our organisation uses rather a lot of it...). The Computer Modern Sans-serif family are fine for most purposes but they don't have the same feel as Helvetica. Any and all pointers (or sources!) gratefully received. I am looking for a program that for cataloging movies that I have on video tape. This would be to keep track of over 800 movies that I have on tape. The program should be able to at least keep track of the following: name of movie lead actor/actress number of tape movie is on length of movie movie classification year of movie Optionally, I would hope for these features: director rating who tape was lent to and date of loan I was thinking of writing something myself, but would rather not re-invent the wheel, especially since I am not proficient at C (yet) and it would take me a while to write... Any suggestions on where such a beast can be obtained would be greatly appreciated... -Jo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |Joseph E Poplawski (Jo) US Mail: 1621 Jackson Street | | Cinnaminson NJ 08077 | |UUCP:..!rutgers!rochester!moscom!telesci!fantasci!jep | | ..!princeton!telesci!fantasci!jep Phone: +1 609 786-8099 home | | ..!pyrnj!telesci!fantasci!jep | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. I am contemplating writing a VMS 'help' look-alike. I have seen the 'help' code in comp.sources.unix, but the authors took the easy way out by using the file system to provide the layered structure. (Slow, dirty, inefficient, wasteful of disk space.) The code should be in two parts: a) A program to 'compile' a VMS-style input text file into a single data file with an index at the top giving byte offsets into the file for FAST access. b) A help function that could be run from the shell or an interactive program that reads the help library file and provides an interactive user interface, just like the VMS one. If anyone out there has implemented such a beast, please let me know: I would like to avoid re-inventing the wheel. Otherwise, I guess I'll do it myself soon. 2. I am looking for the source code to the "protoize"/"unprotoize" program which constructs and deletes ANSI C prototype declarations from C source. I have used ftp to get the patch files (from ics.uci.edu), but the original source does not seem to be there. Does anyone have the source code, or could they point me in the right direction? (PLEASE reply to this message via E-MAIL ONLY, as I have cross- posted this to a number of different groups and don't want to be flamed for the rest of my natural existence and beyond. In other words, just DON'T FOLLOW-UP!) I'm looking for a program that runs on the Sun SparcStations. What it does is let you write from a SparcStation floppy drive onto an MS-DOS 720K diskette. I believe the name of the program is MTOOL (or something like that). If some kind sould could either point me to it at an anonymous FTP site, or if somebody could E-Mail it to me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot. +------///-+------------------| BRETT KESSLER |------------------+-\\\------+ | /// | consp11@bingvaxu.cc.binghamton.edu | \\\ | | \\\/// | consp11@bingvaxa.BITNET | \\\/// | | \XX/ | (PeopleLink) B.KESSLER | \XX/ | +----------+-----------------------------------------------------+----------+
