What is an easy way to get tea/coffee stains out of mugs?

Newsgroups: net.cooks My first year at university, the cleaning woman used to offer to clean our mugs "by magic" if we would close our eyes. She used an abrasive cleanser (comet, etc). It works. jeanine

Stains in coffee/tea mugs vanish instantly with a mild bleach solution. Another interesting fact I read yesterday - an article in the paper said that old tea that is sitting around can be used to clean chrome appliances. If someone would care to try this and report back, we'd all be interested. Unplug the appliance first.
