[comp.sources.wanted] Autobauding getty for 3B2

greg@gagme.chi.il.us (Gregory Gulik) (09/30/90)

Is there such a program that will autobaud correctly on a 3B2
running System V 3.2???

Let me know if you know of anything..

Thanks.

All you have to is properly set up the /etc/gettydefs file. The last field in
gettydefs tells getty what baud rate to jump to after a break. You ought the
be able to find it in TFM... :-)

Ideally one would use uugetty -r and let simple c/r sequences effect the
baud rate detection.. Have gettydefs loop through specific baudrates,
 I.E. 2400 to 1200 to 2400 ..

Or, you could use the Enhanced SYSV Getty/Uugetty that I have
submitted to comp.sources.misc. One of the enhancements is the
ability to parse the CONNECT message from the modem to set the speed
properly.

I know I'm going to regret this, but if anyone wants a copy of this
getty, and cannot wait until it appears in comp.sources.misc, send me
email and I'll get you the five parts.
