[comp.sources.wanted] Wanted: Simple IBM PC Keyboard Locker

frank@odetics.com (Frank Merrow) (10/06/90)

Hi,

For one of you TRS gurus out there this should be a VERY simple problem.
My 15 month old son has figured out how to turn on the computer and
pound on the keyboard. I have seen "something" like what I want, but
not exactly. I am sure this is a simple (and hopefully VERY small) TSR:

What I want is a keyboard locker. Not a password program to keep my wife
out, but rather a simple program that "swallows" all keyboard input
from the time one key set is pressed (say ctl-alt-l) until another keyboard
sequence is pressed (say ctl-alt-u). The idea is to make the key
sequence complicated for "little hands", but easy for adults. Additionally,
the TRS should come up in "locked" mode, so that if Charley does turn
on the computer by himself, he can not get control. Ideally, I should be
able to "lock" and "unlock" from within any of my standard applications
(Lotus, Wordstar 2000, etc) without having to drop to DOS.

Anyone know of such a beast or willing to write one? I don't like running
"strange" binaries on my machine so source is DEFINATELY preferred.

Frank
