clindh@sunrise.abalon.se (Christer Lindh) (10/11/90)
Sun does not distribute SunOS with the crypt-stuff outside the US, as
they (USGov/NSA/CIA/Bush/?) insists that it's a military secret or
something. However, I've seen DES-algorithms and similar floating
around the net long time ago.
1/ Does anyone have a free version of crypt(1)?
It should work just like UNIX crypt. I know that's not the best crypt
around, but compability requires it. (I'll use it with GNU Emacs
crypt.el).
2/ I'm also looking for a crypt that produces printable output.
I'll use this for crypting email and as I'm using Emacs to write/read
mail, any lisp-code for Emacs that does this is especially welcome.
Note: I don't have access to Internet, ie no ftp.
Thanks in advance!
