[comp.sources.wanted] Software to convert UUCP Map to DNS zone data is available

Makey@Logicon.COM (Jeff Makey) (10/23/90)

Having abandoned work on modifying pathalias to produce a UUCP Zone
file for the DNS, I am now making the patches available to interested
parties. The changes allow pathalias to produce DNS zone data such as
the following:

uunet IN	CNAME uunet.uu.net.
seismo IN	MX	100	uunet.uu.net.
earlobe IN	UX	225	spdcc.com.	earvax!earlobe!%s
*.jpn BAD	UX	4299	uunet.uu.net.	kddlab!%s
miaau.dk	BAD	CNAME mi.aau.dk.

The BAD class was invented to preserve UUCP Map data that is
inconsistent with the DNS. The UX type was invented to provide the
information necessary to route mail to sites that are more than one
hop off the internet. I know of no name server implementations that
support such records, but the data is there if you can find a way to
use it.

Due to the difficulty of using this software safely I am not posting
it, but I will e-mail a 20 Kbyte shar file to anyone who asks. Send
your requests to "Makey@Logicon.COM".
