[net.cooks] net.vegetarian

jgb@linus.UUCP (Jonathan G. Bressel) (12/29/83)

Daily, I receive mail enthusiastically calling for a vegetarian group.
net.cooks is NOT an appropriate forum for this topic. If you read my last
posting to net.news.group, net.cooks, and net.misc, I think you'll see why.
net.vegetarian in NOT just about recipes!!! To all those that have
responded to me by mail, please mail a vote to net.news.group so we can get
the ball rolling. I don't think mailing messages of support to me,
personally, helps (although I do enjoy receiving them :-)).

As an occasional meat-eater who likes vegetarian dishes,
I'd be sorry to see those recipes, info about sources or
restaurants, etc. move from net.cooks to a new newsgroup.
Couldn't we just move the 'philosophy, morality ...'
stuff to a subgroup and leave the cooking stuff here?

I beg to differ. net.cooks is not just for recipes -- it is
for 'Food, cooking, cookbooks, and recipes.' The food is the
key. I think net.cooks.veg belongs there.

What's the world coming to if net.motss isn't about sex, and
net.vegetarian isn't about recipes?
