I am looking for something called NTP - Network Time Protocol. I have seen references to it around the net, but can't find it listed in any archive directories. Can anyone point me to a source of any kind for this? Where can I find the source/documentation for ntpd (network time protocol daemon)? This daemon is able to synchronize internet hosts down to the millisecond (as per RFC 1129). It was developed by Petry & Mamakos at the U. of Maryland. Does anyone out there use this or any other time synchronization daemon? Does it work well with RFS & NFS? Does it chew up much CPU or network time? Are there any administrative subtlties or general operating instructions? - Erik
