Several years ago I remember running across a fairly simple, easy-to-use, LaTeX/TeX syntax checker (begin-end loops, etc.). I have tried the comp.sources.unix, comp.sources.misc, alt.source archives and the LaTeX/Tex internet sites, but can not seem to find this program or anything similar. Anyone have some pointers as to where I might such a beast? Thanks. Marc Reies (ries@venice.sedd.trw.com)

Funny you should neglect to crosspost to comp.text.tex and limit
Distribution: na.
I think some detex versions do simple checking... check the "monthly
ftp list" for sites...
