[comp.sources.wanted] A free ksh that works well

I wonder whether there is a free ksh that works well?

I know of bash, but my impression is that it is a separate branch from
sh.  Is this true, or is it compatible with ksh?  SunOS is the only OS
that I need a ksh to run on.
