It is with dismay that I note that many current versions of UNIX(tm) no longer provide the adb(1) command. This is a tool that is very handy at times, since it provides symbolic oriented access and binary editing ability to executables, especially the kernel. It premits altering the running image in /dev/kmem, the image stored on disk, in the /unix file (or better yet, a copy of it). Has anyone created or know of a PD version of adb or an equivilant which one can build on a system like Sys V Rel 3, and if so, would it be possible to mail the source to me so I can build and use this handy tool? Adb is one of those things one doesn't use often, but when one wants it, they REALLY want it!!!
