[comp.sources.wanted] Program to view .gifs/where

  1) Comp.sources.wanted is a better place to post questions like this.
That's what it's there for.  I've directed followups there.

  2) There are various programs in the comp.sources.x archives that will do
what you want.  I recommend "xv" in particular.  It's in volume 10, available
for anonymous ftp from uunet.uu.net or any other comp.sources.x archive site. 
It's also available as /contrib/xv.pl3.tar.Z on expo.lcs.mit.edu.
