[comp.sources.wanted] mkuser for SUNOS

martin@udac.uu.se (Martin Wendel) (03/06/91)

I wonder if there exists a mkuser (program to add users) anywhere
in the public domain world that will compile under SUNOS4.0.3?

I'm tired of having to edit /etc/passwd and /etc/group, making
directories etc. every time I have to add a user. I always seem
to forget something.

Martin,
There are a number of shell programs either /bin/sh or /bin/csh.
I know that the Unix V release 4.0 comes with an adduser shellscript.
That's cpyrighted by AT&T of course, it comes on the Amiga 3000UX
machines from Commodore, among others.

It's not that difficult to write such a thing yourself, you know.
Just some executable scripts like:
addgroup
adduser
mkhomedir
etc.
