--------------------------- A nice addition to this good basic Jewish chicken soup recipe is something my mama never taught me, but which I learned from a college chum who learned it from her bubbe. GINGER! Either throw some ground ginger into the soup (to taste) when you're seasoning it, or even better, cut some slices of fresh ginger root and boil them in the stock with the rest of the vegetables. If you do the latter, you should fish the pieces of ginger out of the soup before serving, unless you REALLY like ginger. Since being introduced to this practice, I now routinely add ginger to any poultry soup (chicken, turkey, duck . . .). -- Morris M. Keesan {decvax,linus,wjh12}!bbncca!keesan keesan @ BBN-UNIX.ARPA

My neighborhood Chinese grocery has chicken feet without the chicken attached. =S
