Several years ago (in BIT magazine, I believe), the source code of Scott Adams' text adventure "Pirate Adventure" was printed. Does anyone out there have it?? Thanks in advance.

I logged into "quiche.cs.mcgill.ca" as "archie" and typed "set search sub" and then "prog pirate", and got back a couple pages of entries, most of which were useless. However, this one will give you what you want, I think: Host dkuug.dk (129.142.96.41) Last updated 00:45 8 Mar 1991 Location: /src/euugd18/General/Adv/Compiler FILE rw-r--r-- 15955 Jul 13 1989 Pirate.adv That file in particular is just a configuration file for the adventure game interpreter whose source code is in that directory. You can snarf all the sources and compile them, and you will be able to play the game. I don't know if this is the same source code that was printed in BIT, but I suspect that the games is, in essence, the same (aren't all adventure games? :-). -- Jonathan Kamens USnail: MIT Project Athena 11 Ashford Terrace jik@Athena.MIT.EDU Allston, MA 02134 Office: 617-253-8085 Home: 617-782-0710
