Wanted, not dead but alive, an enhancement for Unix leave program. I am looking for these extensions in particular. 1) Provide multiple times to leave. 2) Stop prompting the user after $n minutes, where $n can be set by the user. 3) Different message for each ttl, optionally embedding %h, %m ... sequencing the same way "date +" uses. 4) Can be given a wild card for times and dates, the same way it is done in crontabs. Say you want the program to * prompt you 5 times from 9:55 until 10:00 with the message "It is %h:%m, you have an appointment with Mr. X" * tell you at 12:00 today that you have to go to ... * on Sun-Thu reminds you to go home at 16:30 * beep every hour * On Sundays 13:55 remind you to go to class. * On every Tuesday of the fist week of the month, tell you to run zero level backups. etc. P.s. It can be implemented using a private crontab, but BSD does have privates crontabs :-( -- | Israel Yedidya, Math & CS Department, Bar-Ilan U, Ramat-Gan, ISRAEL. | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Internet: yedidya@bimacs.cs.biu.ac.il Bitnet: yedidya@bimacs | | Uucp: ...!uunet!pucc.princeton.edu!bimacs!yedidya | \----------------------------------------------------------------------/ \--- If someone proves there is no God, I'll stop being religious ---/ --------------------------------------------------------------------
